Product FAQs
Q: Are the shelves included?
A: No the shelves are not included. You can purchase shelve material at any hardware store that sells lumber. I use 2X4’s for the vertical members and 1x4, 1x6, 1x8... for the shelves. The names don’t match the size (FYI). A 1x4 is actually 3/4x3 1/2 inches, etc. You can look up EZStudRack on YouTube for videos of different builds.
Q: What is the maximum suggested weight it can hold?
A: We limit it to 45 lbs because there are a lot of variables like, how deep is the shelf, what type of shelf (MDF, Plywood, Particle board, etc.), how many screws did you use, what's the distance between studs, etc. Remember that DEEP SHELVES cause CLUTTER. As you put your shelves between studs, use the ONE ROW DEEP STORAGE method. When you use an item, you always put it back in the same spot.
Here is a video with some more information.
Q: Can I cut these in half or in thirds to be able to space the shelves out further?
A: Yes the EZ Stud Rack Shelving System can be cut. Here is a video where I demonstrate cutting and EZStudRack. Keep in mind, when you cut them, this will limit the between studs storage adjusting flexibility. Here is a video that shows notching out EZStudRack.
Hope this helps!
